Castle Hill to Dural and Kenthurst. Crews with the gear for acreage. Large gum removals, storm work, bushfire-zone and acreage clearing across The Hills Shire, quoted as one fixed price by AQF Level 5 arborists. $20M public liability, council Tree Management Applications and 10/50 checks handled before a chainsaw starts. ★ 5.0 from 70 Google reviewsAQF Level 5 arboristsISO 9001 certified$20M public liability A Hills block is not a 450 m² suburban block. Castle Hill and Baulkham Hills quarter-acres carry 25-metre Blackbutts and Sydney Blue Gums planted when the estates went in; Dural, Glenhaven, Kenthurst and Annangrove are acreage with remnant bushland, old orchard rows and whole fence lines of overgrown Camphor Laurel and Privet. The work is bigger, the timber is heavier and the distance from the road to the tree is longer. We bring a compact loader, a tracked chipper and a stump grinder that fit through a standard gate, and add a crane or an excavator when the job needs one, so the removal is finished in the days we quoted rather than dragged out by hand. Most of what we do here is large removals, storm damage, clearing for sheds, pools, driveways and new builds, and bushfire-zone work on the fringes near the national park and the Cattai bush. The paperwork is a real part of the job in The Hills — the Shire protects its canopy hard — and we handle it in-house, with an AQF Level 5 report where the council wants one. We are based in Mortdale, so the Hills is a scheduled run rather than a drop-in: we group Hills quotes and jobs into scheduled runs to keep the travel cost down, and storm call-outs come through the same 24/7 number as everywhere else. Blackbutt, Blue Gum, Grey Gum and Turpentine over houses, sheds and pools — dismantled in sections and rigged down, or craned out where the block allows. See tree removal. Fence lines, weed thickets, dead and dangerous trees and clearing for new sheds, pools and driveways. 10/50 entitlements checked on the RFS tool first. See land clearing. Tree Management Applications to The Hills Shire with an AQF Level 5 arborist report where it is needed, and honest advice beforehand on whether it will be approved. See arborist reports. Stumps ground below grade, old orchard rows grubbed, root plates dealt with, then the site levelled, retained or turfed by the same crew. See site preparation. Council: The Hills Shire Council protects most established trees and treats pruning seriously — removing more than 10% of a tree’s crown needs consent, not just removal. The maximum penalty for unlawful tree work runs to $1.1 million, so this is not the district for a quiet weekend chainsaw job. Declared priority weeds and trees grown for their fruit can usually go without consent. We lodge the Tree Management Application for you and attach the AQF Level 5 report where the council asks for one. 10/50: Parts of the Shire near bushland are in the 10/50 Vegetation Clearing entitlement area, which lets you clear trees within 10 m of a home and other vegetation within 50 m without council approval. The mapping changes street by street, and the rules have exclusions, so we check your exact address on the RFS online tool before we quote and put the result in writing. See our guide to the 10/50 rule. Terrain and access: Hills blocks tend to be long, with the big trees at the back and a slope down to a creek line. Long drags mean more crew time, which is why we bring the loader and the tracked chipper to the tree rather than carrying the tree to the road. Where a crane can set up in the street or the driveway, a two-day dismantle becomes a one-day lift, and we price both options if it is close. Photos are from our own jobs and our own equipment. No stock images. Taken from our own 2026 invoices, not a national average. Every job is quoted as one fixed price after we see it. Full breakdown in the tree removal cost guide. The Hills Shire Council needs to give consent before a protected tree is removed or pruned by more than 10%. Its own page warns that removing, damaging or lopping a tree without consent can bring a maximum fine of up to $1.1 million. So we do not lop. We reduce a tree to AS 4373 where pruning will fix the problem, and we remove it, with the Tree Management Application lodged first, where it will not. Two things are exempt from consent on the council page: priority weeds and trees grown for their fruit. Parts of the Shire also fall under the 10/50 rule. Usually yes, unless the tree is a declared priority weed, grown for fruit, or your property sits inside the 10/50 entitlement area and the tree is within the clearing distance. We check all three before quoting and tell you which applies in writing. From about $5,000 ex GST for a 10 m+ tree with straightforward access, up to $25,000 or more where it has to be craned over the house or rigged down over two to three days. Fixed price after we see it; the figures in the table below are from our own 2026 jobs. Yes — trees, stumps, root plates and undergrowth, chipped on site or carted, then levelled and compacted ready for the builder. Clearing jobs run from around $6,000 to $25,000 ex GST depending on the number and size of trees. See land clearing. We do. We group Hills quotes and jobs into scheduled runs to keep the travel cost down, and storm damage gets the 24/7 crew regardless. Real reviews from Sydney clients, quoted from our Google profile.
