Lower North Shore. Precision rigging over pools, walls and views. Figs, gums and Jacarandas over harbour-view terraces, pools and sandstone retaining walls. AQF Level 5 arborists dismantle and reduce them piece by piece, write the reports Mosman Council asks for, and leave the terrace as they found it. $20M public liability, SWMS for strata, fixed price after a look. ★ 5.0 from 66 Google reviewsAQF Level 5 arboristsISO 9001 certified$20M public liability Mosman blocks are steep, terraced and expensive. A Moreton Bay Fig or a Blue Gum here usually stands above a pool, a sandstone wall, a glass balustrade and a neighbour’s roof, with the only access down a set of stairs. That rules out most of the ways a tree company saves time. Every limb is rigged and lowered by a climber, the drop zone is matted, and the timber goes out in pieces a person can carry or a crane can lift from the street. The other half of the job is the council. Mosman Council needs consent for pruning as well as removal unless the species is on its exempt list, it will not approve removals for views, and it wants an arborist’s assessment on anything that is not obviously dead or dangerous. We write those assessments in-house at AQF Level 5 and lodge them with the application; an approval typically takes up to 10 working days. For strata and managed properties we supply the SWMS, the insurance certificates and completion photos, and we can attend the committee meeting if the removal is contested. Figs, gums and Camphor Laurels dismantled in sections and lowered onto mats, or lifted out by crane from the street where the block allows. See tree removal. Reductions, thinning and deadwood to AS 4373 that lighten a tree over a roof or pool without butchering it — the kind of pruning Mosman Council will actually approve. See tree pruning. AQF Level 5 arborist reports and tree applications to Mosman Council, with honest advice first on whether the council will say yes. See arborist reports. Fig and Camphor Laurel roots lifting sandstone walls and paving: root pruning to AS 4970, root barriers, and the wall or terrace rebuilt afterwards. See root barriers. Council: Mosman Council is one of the strictest in Sydney. Pruning needs consent as well as removal unless the species is exempt, view improvement is not accepted as a reason to remove, and applications take up to 10 working days to come back. Dead and dangerous trees still need to be documented. We check the exempt list, tell you what is realistic, and lodge the application with our AQF Level 5 report attached so it is not sent back for more information. Access: Most Mosman removals are stair-access jobs. The crew carries everything in and out, or a crane sets up on the street and lifts sections over the house. Crane days cost more up front and are usually cheaper overall on the big trees because they turn three days of rigging into one; we quote both ways when it is close. Trees: Moreton Bay and Port Jackson Figs, Sydney Blue Gum, Blackbutt, Jacaranda, Camphor Laurel and Cocos Palms. Figs and Camphor Laurels are the ones in the walls and drains; the gums are the ones over the roof; the palms are the ones the council will let go. Photos are from our own jobs. No stock images. No — view improvement is not a ground for removal in Mosman. What the council will usually approve is a properly specified crown reduction or thin to AS 4373, which we can design and lodge for you. Up to 10 working days once lodged. Sending it in with an AQF Level 5 report attached is the surest way to avoid it being sent back for more information. Rigged removals over structures with stair access run from about $5,000 ex GST for a medium tree to $15,000–$25,000 for a large fig or gum that needs a crane. Fixed price after we walk the site. Taken from our own 2026 invoices, not a national average. Every job is quoted as one fixed price after we see it. Full breakdown in the tree removal cost guide. Send a photo of the tree and what is under it. We will tell you what Mosman Council will approve, then give you one fixed price.Tree Removal Mosman — harbour-side trees, sandstone terraces and a council that checks
